FINALLY !

I finished the socks ! I was making and re-making but finally I learned and they even look like socks :)

Better late than never....

So Easter has come ...and gone... All of them ;)
So here is a little memories of our little Easter celebration at home. So one of the Easter traditions in Poland is to decorate eggs. There are many different techniques. There is painting, there is painting with wax there is a simple boiling in onion peals (or red onion peels or spinach) and they can be later scratched with a sharp tool. i usually do the onion peels and then scratch but this time I went for wax pattern and ten staining, using a commercial dye. And I made a little hen :) and we borrowed a black sheep and a golden bunny from Lind ! Ah and the spider web like patter this in an egg which shel broke so I broke it a bit more and deeped in a dye and then peel :)

Our little garden

So we started a very little garden on our balcony this spring :) it took "ages" for the seeds to germinate ! but when they finally did they picked up on growing quite fast. Now they are happily growing bigger and bigger. Even the chili decoded to show up eventually! so we have lattice and coriander and basil and chives. we hope for the best. We even put a little sliver of ginger into a pot we will see how it comes up!

Waiting for the spring

The weather got worse lately... Instead of a pretty spring this year we have a nice "Winter come back"... With little snow storms and all, melt down immediately... I want to spring! it is long overdue, we gonna even change the time this weekend. So waiting for the spring... I have put on a little light to brighten this dark days of waiting.

Bracelet

This one was weaved on a loom. I think the concept comes from the native Americans. They used to make beads form available natural materials like coral and shells semi-precious, stones, wood, bone and metals. The glass beads were brought to them only by the European colonists. One of the most popular stitches is the peyote stitch, but many more varieties exists.

You know how it is sometimes you see something you think oh it is so cute, I bet it is easy to make, but ... No! :) not at all
so just in case someone wants to try this later I attached the pattern with it.
so you just need to string a lot of beads in this order (left to right then repeat). I used O-for one color and X-for another:
OOOXOOOX OXXOOXXO XOXOXOXO XXOOXXOO
and then you start from the left again. So later you take a crochet and make rounds of 8 beads each :)
